3 Reasons to Switch to Organic PJs

Organic has been a buzz word for while - organic produce, organic makeup, etc. So whats the deal with organic clothing? And what are some benefits?

1.  Your skin will thank you. Synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon have almost zero moisture absorbency or breathability. This can be extremely irritating on the skin and can lead to skin rashes and allergic reactions.  The body releases a large amount of toxins through the skin so blocking the natural breathability can pose other risks to the body, beyond skin deep.  Cotton is one of the most heavily sprayed and treated crops grown around the world.  All the pesticides, herbicides and fungicides used to grow cotton as well as process and dye it eventually come in direct contact with your skin. This also can pose a plethora of skin allergies and irritations not to mention other more serious risks such as a weakened immune system. Choosing fabrics that are grown organically with natural breathability will limit your body's exposure to these chemicals and allow for the natural release of toxins overnight.

2. The earth will be cleaner.  One cotton T-shirt requires about 1/3 of a pound of chemicals to produce. Choosing organically produced sleepwear reduces the amount of chemicals and harmful pollutants used to grow and process the fibers used for textile. That means less chemicals in the environment, ground water, and oceans.

3. Your wallet will be happy. Organic fabrics endure less exposure to harsh chemicals than non-organic fibers,  which weaken the fabric fibers. Without these chemicals the fabric will be more durable and able to withstand wash after wash. This means that you won't be having to make an investment in pajamas very often which ultimately means more money saved!

No one is superhuman and it is very challenging to wear only organic clothing and garments all the time. Thats why we suggest starting off with organic pajamas. A simple switch will have you covered for at least 8 hours of the day (hopefully) without having to change your entire wardrobe.

Sweet dreams :)
